Tips On Making Realistic & Achievable New Year Resolutions!

Hey y’all!

So as promised, I’m back with another post, this time on how to make realistic & achievable new year resolutions! This post is going to be all about how to plan your goals, how to set goals so that they are achievable, and figuring out whether your goals are long term goals, or short term goals. Without further ado, let’s go!

The Difference Between Long Term & Short Term Goals

So the first thing you guys need to know is the difference between long term and short term goals. Figuring this out is going to really help you with figuring out your resolutions!

Long term goals are goals that take a longer period of time to achieve ( so the title haha). They’re what you would like to achieve in the future. Short term goals are basically goals that take a shorter amount of time to complete ( again, in the title haha). They may be goals that you would like to achieve by today, tomorrow, a week or maybe even a little bit more.

So now that you know the difference, let’s get a move onto how to actually set goals!

Setting Your Resolutions

So now that you’re at this step, I want you to close your eyes and think about your long term goals. What do you want to achieve this year? Is it realistic? How hard do you have to work to achieve it? Now that you’ve thought of a few, write them down! You don’t have to limit yourself, the more, the merrier haha! Now that you’ve done a goal dump, start filtering out your goals. Start by taking the ones that are top priority, and filter them down to lowest priority:)

Weekly Goals

Now that you’ve done a goal dump and have filtered them, it’s time for some weekly goals. At the start of every week, I want you to write down somewhere what you want to achieve that week. Try to complete as many as you can!

That’s all for today’s post guys, but before you leave I just wanted to tell you a little something. The advice I’ve given you is how it has worked for me, and I really do hope that it works for you, but make sure your goals are flexible! Life happens!
